My curiosity got the best of me. I tried to find an audio of Cabdriver so I could see if I could remember it. Can't find it by the Ink Spots. Found a recording of a song by that name by the Mills Brothers. It didn't sound remotely familiar.

Actually I had no idea you were supposed to get high from mimeographed documents. I just thought they smelled cool.

It was always a high point of my existence to be allowed to run the mimeograph machine for teacher. I was one of those girls who would kneecap her adversaries in order to be able to clean the blackboards after school.

Blackjack gum was, and is, one of my favorites. I bet you were too well-brought-up to chew gum. My grandmother owned a cafe, and sold all sorts of things that were "bad for you" including gum. I love gum. My dad, the dentist, would kill me if he knew that I chew gum -- so it's a guilty pleasure and I don't do it often.
