What then? Should we let you guys handle it? > Somehow, I think Saddam wouldn't particularly want to nuke New Zealand. Not many countries do. The USA has been fairly belligerent towards NZ at times, but that's normal. Most countries are friendly [not counting France which is a nasty piece of work]. New Zealanders [by and large] have a cosmopolitan globalist view of the world. Americans have an isolationist PNAC view of the world. It's better that NZ doesn't have a Nukes r Us militaristic alliance with hegemonistic ideology. But the thing about your comment is that whether a country likes it or not, they'll be "saved" if it's in USA interests [meaning the interests of the current bosses] and they won't be if it's not. The USA will unsign any mutual defence treaties if they feel like it, and enact one if they want to [even without the other party joining in]. So, I think, for example, that if China took Taiwan, then Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, into Indonesia and heading for Australia and New Zealand, the USA would defend New Zealand and Australia anyway. The USA wouldn't want to be isolated within continental North America, cut off from trade, resources and freedom of movement around the world by a totalitarian new-age Genghis. Similarly, New Zealand has been out front, before the USA in the case of WWII [the USA cowering across the ocean while Kiwis had long since joined the battle against Germany], defending civilization along with other like-minded people. Not that New Zealand is civilized, or the USA, but they are better than the more horrendous of political ideology such as Adolf's and the Taleban's. Mqurice
