Perhaps you should research the thread before making glib, uninformed accusations. In addition to this post, I found two others where I posted articles critical of Dean's mud-slinging this year.

But if the thread doesn't suit you, good luck elsewhere:

We agree 100% on "it may well be that the harsh rhetoric that dominates politics these days has hurt all politicians in the eyes of the general public." Whether it's Rove or DEAN or Limbaugh or whoever, the crotch-bashing politics of the 51% "strategy" have weakened the entire system.

That's the whole point of this thread. If I am critical of Bush, it's because he is a principal perpetrator of that style in my view. So are DEAN and Hillary based on recent speeches - a total turnoff.

My only hope is that America gets turned off by the bash-and-crash crap and the 2008 presidential nominees are relatively decent moderates.

We shall see.

Hey, that's 1700 posts with only a handful of bans and hardly a single major food fight. And some said it couldn't be done.

I have yet to see Ionesco, Scott, Sider or others post anything favorable from the republican perspective.

Rest assured, if I see anything from the Bush presidency I find both admirable and noteworthy I'll post about it...

Right now? I can't even say that they're firmly against torture. Which really should not be much to ask.

As for my lack of posting about Democrat shenanigans, basically right now they don't matter - certainly to me (you may have noticed I'm not American). They're disunited, disorganised, lack focus and clear messages, and have no obvious leader or even lead coterie. Plus they're not in power in any Congress, Senate or WH. What's to post about?

If it's any consolation, I do post occasionally against the British Labour party, who are left-ish wing. You may not realise that Blair was once a dyed-in-the-wool socialist, and is still probably more LW than me. This means that I slam his economic policies, his social policies, AND his authoritarian leanings, disdain for parliament and dragging us into a completely fruitless (for us) war with Iraq.
But since few here have probably even heard of the Labour party, still less care about it, I hardly bother :)
