Maybe... but they talked about the Iraq government torturing Sunni's, and how that would have to stop to have an effective democratic central government (any real chance of that?). They talked about the militias being much stronger than the Iraqi army/police, and how do you have an effective democratic central government with sectarian militias running amok. They talked briefly about this past election, and if one guy ends up winning (didn't catch the name) then all might be lost as he is a hard line Shite with ties to Iran... and how if an Iranian style government gets written into the revised constitution over the coming months all was lost.

It was a huge contrast to Bush's Pollyanna propaganda. If things break really bad in Iraq (in my opinion when) then a lot of people who have listened to Bush are going to be shocked.

"You got the feeling that they had just seen the difference between the REAL Iraq, and the FANTASY Iraq that Bush was promoting, and they felt it was critical to prepare the American people for what is probably going to be a disaster... very soon."

And they probably were soft-peddling the real situation because it is so at variance with what we have been officially fed.

Recently, two congressmen were on their way to the airport from Baghdad in a hummer or a jeep when they thought they were under attack. The driver took the vehicle off the road and ended up rolling it. That should tell us what's its like over there. A drive from the city to the airport can be one of the most dangerous.

And if things weren't bad enough with the insurgents, some of the 25K security guards/mercenaries who are in the country to protect people when on their days off are shooting at civilians while driving...........just for the hell of it. They had a video of some guys just taking potshots at innocent drivers......blowing out their windshields or their tires...as they drove along the road. Iraq is probably the most violent country in the world right now. That's the real truth.
