"Hopelessly naive" I say that with kindness, affection and a degree of sadness. You talked clinically and casually about grandkids being thrown from buildings by islamofascists as if it is a police matter. If tens or hundreds of terrorists are planning on blowing up buildings or using wmd, the state has a right to self defend. Thats what makes this different from purely police matters. Your inablility to recognize this distinction amazes me. And thats the difference between the two of us. I listened to the talking heads this weekend and i understand now that the security vs liberty/privacy thing is an issue that has to be dealt with. Perhaps they could have used the FISA court as some say. You will never say, perhaps security has some import when it comes to the WOT, but then again you dont believe that there is a WOT, do you?
