CSFB has indeed been consistently bearish which is why this upgrade is surprising. Especially since the upgrade is based on a strong IC unit cycle in 2006. They believe that if IC growth above past peak levels follows historical norms (always a question), then bonder sales still have several good quarters ahead. They also point out the company is profitable now even at trough levels (last DEC '04). Finally, they cite "recent checks" which indicate test will soon be separated, either in whole or at least probe cards. All together, they believe earnings have been underestimated and the stock is cheap.
