Bush is LYING and BROKE THE LAW. He also may be spying not on Osama's friends but on opponents inside this country. We do not know yet. The rightwing's whole argument is based on the assumption Bush is listening in on Al Qaida. But it is highly unlikely we have 30 Al Qaida operatives who are American citizens that they're listening to. Now, there have to be others, many others. But who?

Tom Daschle says Bush may have spied on Kerry and other opponents. That based on their record he would not put anything past them when it comes to bending the laws for personal gain. Daschle further said that Bush lied about consulting congress. Daschle should know. He was majoriuty leader at the time. Bush did not consult with congress except for telling a few of them after the fact that they were listening in on a few foreigers inside the country. Not American citizens as Bush has now admitted to, but foreign terrorist suspects. And only a few times. Not dozens and dozens. Furthermore, Bush is required by law to get court orders for all of this stuff. Meanwhile, I hear on rightwing radio that since we are "at war" we have to do "everything we can" including rip up the Constitution I guess to give Bush "all powers to defend us". But where was Bush before 9-11? Ignoring the CIA warnings. They're also lying saying that Clinton did this. But where's the evidence that CLinton went around the courts and used the NSA to eavesdrop on US citizens? I'd like to see that evidence. Probably never happened, but the rightwing are repeating it over and over anyway. Classic Karl Rove coverup blame the messenger or anyone else totalitarian state propaganda garbage.
