You've got that right, fear is a powerful thing, but of course, that's why they use it.

I have spent many hours wondering about the true reason for this war, and the very early proclamations that this would "last for years". What did they know that no one else did, especially given their ineptness before, during and after 911?

One thing I haven't heard discussed, is the sheer volume of the so-called Patriot Act, 150 sections and well over 300 pages. Yet they managed to produce this and have it signed by the pres by Oct 26 2001. Since much of it calls for changing or expanding existing laws, it must have taken an immense amount of work. Heck, just reviewing current laws should have taken almost forever, yet shortly after 911 they have this voluminous document. When have you ever seen lawyers or government work so quickly?

Just recently I am revamping my thinking about the true reasons for all of this, but increasingly it is getting clearer.
