Isolationist???

Good point Tim. It does seem contradictory. But I don't think USA isolationism normally means an Albanian type, or North Korean, self-contained isolationism, or the style of Mao's China, which was also self-contained. I think it means avoiding foreign entanglements and alliances while still ruling the world.

For example, refusing the Kyoto CO2 nonsense, and refusing to agree to the International Criminal Court, are examples of isolationism: usaforicc.org So is refusing to have the UN or some other entity take over control of cyberspace and domain name servers.

At the same time, the PNAC is greatly strengthened by controlling cyberspace, the global positioning service, multinational corporations such as my beloved QUALCOMM and Globalstar and the unilateral USA military services which are vastly powerful despite the success of suicide attacks and improvised explosive devices taking a steady toll in Iraq.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the jargon.
