The New York Public Transportation strike is on. Terrible hit to the economy and NY residents during the Holidays.

In Paris at the end of 1995, the transportation workers were on strike for 6 straight weeks into the Xmas holidays.

Any number of businesses in Paris that depended on the end of year sales to stay afloat went bankrupt thanks to that one.

In the end, Chirac and Juppé's government caved in to the demands.
