I adore Will. I also adore Kinsley. I always appreciate what they have to say and the way they say it. And rarely disagree with either.

That takes some doing since they are certainly not on the same side of the political fence. I wouldn't want to have one of those longish back and forths with you trying to show us how the two are saying basically the same thing. ;-)

I disagreed with one of Will's big time a week or two ago, can't even remember what it was about now.

Sometime recently I read a George Will diatribe on ANWR, the final conclusion being that if there where only three teaspoons of oil under ANWR, we should drill for it anyway, just to show the environmentalists that America is not in favor of collectivism.

It made me think of another form of 'collectivism' practiced by religious groups who run church schools. As I'm sure you know, private school tuition is not tax deductible in the USA. However, donations to churches are. So instead, church members collectively donate to a student fund, which then pays 100% of the all the members school fees at their own school. This is deductible, but only since it is collective, rather than individual.

I'd love to see a George Will rant looking at this 'communistic' behaviour of conservatives, just to see how his logic stacks up against the rant targeting 'communistic' environmentalists.
