Are medical costs appropriately controlled by MediCare and MediCaid? If so, then we should set up a similar system for legal costs.

First... we have Lott suing the insurance company (his vacation home didn't carry flood insurance) to get more money... now we have the State of Alaska suing Exxon & BP (because the oil companies believe it makes more business sense to build a natural gas pipeline that runs through Canada to Chicago, rather then to Valdez port in Alaska).

Alaska wants to make more money, of course.

Is this the season for hypocrisy, or *what*?
