The core of your thesis is simply unsupportable. Productivity is what lifts our standard of living. Distribution of wealth comes second. You cannot redistribute what you don't have. But if there is wealth created then it is possible to discuss the fairness of its distribution. Right now we are redistributing wealth at a frantic pace while doing little to improve productivity. There is no way at ANY point in the business cycle that productivity undermines our collective wealth.
