Yes, and they don't realize that if you spend all your political energy being outraged over everything, people eventually tune you out. Especially when you can't even discuss the given "issue" without engaging in ridiculous hyperbolic rants. Everything Bush does or says is hyped up as the latest proof that he is engaged in some Rovian treasonous plot (e.g. Plamegate) or is attempting to establish a fascist state (Patriot Act, the current flap, invading Iraq, and even the "W" bumper stickers).
None of these attacks stick because there's no substance to them. But then there's no substance to much of anything out of the dems. Just a lot of hot air and smoke.
You know, I think I've found the source of global warming. ;-)
