Could be a lot of reasons!

Haven't you ever snapped in anger over something and just started firing your gun into somebody's head?

The (unfunny) thing is that he probably did NOT "intend" anything. He has destroyed his own life whatever the courts rule. A lot of people don't connect feeling to thinking.

Haven't you ever put your fist through a window or a wall?
