Lexar might be a good investment, especially if it can ride the coattail of Google, Toshiba and Sandisk. Their main problem is getting enough flash to build their cards and flash drives. With the supply crunch from the holiday buildup easing, they may be able to. The whole pie is growing and there's room for multiple winners. They've also got a shot at the lawsuit lottery to boost their income, unless they buy from STM/Hynix and wind up on the losing end.

Apple owns the MP3 player business, just like Sandisk owns the flash card business. The race really comes down to who's going to take 2nd place. In MP3 players, its Sandisk, Samsung, Creative. In flash cards, it Kingston, PNY, Lexar, and several others. These companies fighting for 2nd place only hold 5-10% market share. It's not impossible, with good execution, for them to grow to 15-20% by taking a little here and a little there. On that note, I picked up a little Spansion on IPO to help see where it's going. I'll keep watch Lexar and Saifun from afar.

Cramer knows about as much about stocks in general -- and SNDK in particular -- as a water buffalo. Sure way to go flat broke is to follow his BS.

Jim Cramer just told to sell SanDisk and buy Lexar instead. More rollercoaster ride ahead.

Jim Cramer is one of the negative fallouts of the InterNet
- on the other hand the Net provides extremely valuable tools to the privat investor who is willing to invest time and effort with no need to pay top $$$ for research.
The pundits though probably still have buddies and connections at the major IC makers but the information monopoly of the financial community has crumbled - I still love Applied's slogan -
information for everybody
