<all systems are go when a president blatantly admits to spying on his own citizens in what nearly everyone agress is an illegal manner with not one ounce of remorse or contrition? > If I wanted to defend GW I think one could add quite a bit of contextual material here... but naaaaaaa that's not what the topic was: <all systems are go when> When the checks, balances, and even the citizens of the country are aware of what's going on so quickly... when the system is so clearly observable and Congress so well informed as to make any progressive encroachments on our liberty very unlikely. More unlikely than ever before, as we've noted with similar happenings under previous administrations. This is like a kid with hand in cookie jar compared to LBJ or many others.
