I haven't actually read Atlas Shrugged or The Fountainhead. I know a fair amount about them by reading a number of reviews and comments but I can hardly be considered an expert, not even close.

I don't think criticism of the specific scenarios of these books amounts to an effective criticism of libertarianism. Perhaps by "Ideal Libertarianism" you mean "Objectivism"? Even objectivism, while it is close to and represented by these books, isn't an exact equal of these books. They are of course works of fiction. Libertarianism isn't a subset of objectivism. Its more the other way around.
