Never said it was ok.

The first is that much of the time, when the Democratic incidents which are invoked are investigated, they turn out to be quite different or not nearly so severe.

I disagree, or at least think that point is exaggerated, and to the extent the Democrats don't do the same bad things as Republicans, you have the issue of other bad thing that they do or did.

The second flaw is that even if the case could be made that the Dems did it, that certainly doesn't make it acceptable.

Again, never said it did. You apparently missed my point. Its not "the Republicans should be let off the hook because the Dems did it too". It is rather that the target should be correct. Something like "politicians", or "congress".

It probably has been. They both do it, whatever it is. Works both ways. You can't say it doesn't any more than they can. If you do, you look just like them.
