That's debatable. Especially long term. Say you are a Senior Partner in a law firm. Your rates are so high only Bill Gates can afford you. So you assign all the penny ante cases to a Junior Partner, and she pulls in more billable hours at a lower rate. Pretty soon she makes more than what Bill Gates pays you. So what do you do? 1) Raise your rates even higher 2) Keep them the same 3) Lower your rates 4) Fire your Junior Partner to reduce competition See what I mean?
