Thank you for your excellent post. Our measures of productivity are so narrow as to be meaningless in all the ways you suggest -- on this I agree completely. You must decide what you value and then focus on creating value in light of your own sense of what matters. Productivity does not mean finder a cheaper way to do something, it means producing something of value without waste. I believe that the Amish see their way of life as far more productive than our way of life.
