you sound worried, and rightly so, because there are 2.6 bil folks willing and many able to do what you did, only better, because it was nothing particularly unusual, and that is exactly why teotwawki dawn is fun to watch :0) yes, maurice, bingo, the accident is over, and sheer scale is precisely what it is all about! and if you are not worried, then you do not understand what is going on. <<Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan>> yada yada etc are just a few cities worth, and in the case of singapore, barely a district of a city. the scale is exactly what is wonderous <<requiring creativity, freedom and fun>> yada yada , you sound as if invoking mexican president fox's battle cry to defeat china-based manufacturing based on innovation :0) wonderful. by the way, i just got notified by client that their newest factory in china just figured out how to produce something in 5 steps what took the investor 7 steps. the executives are again amazed, and they will be marketing the stuff under an as yet secret second brand so as to not mess up the global industry for a while longer (they have 13 plants elsewhere in the world). when one has college grads working on assembly lines, wonderful things happen ... like innovation, not as in iPod, yet, but as in how to make something better and cheaper. you clearly do not understand what is happening at the front lines of the battle. <<If they can catch the USA, that will be something good. But what will be more tricky is to move beyond, leading the way. That will be a big challenge. I don't think it'll happen>> i take the overtaking as a given, and in my life time; the journey is long, and you will learn much :0) i am figuring commercialization / colonization of space ... the final frontier. chugs, j
