But biologists cannot utter an opinion or write that they think God really had anything to do with us being here and be biologists in good standing. If they are speaking as experts in the field of biology, I would agree with you. If they are speaking as ordinary citizens, they are as entitled to their opinions as anyone else. A doctor can have an opinion on football strategy, for example. He just can't appropriately have an opinion on that in his capacity as a doctor.
