That's the subject of "Metaphysics," which asks the question: "Is the universe real or not real?" "Is what we see all their is, or is there an unseen universe beyond it?" Indeed. That's why I offered that, if some scientist can figure out how to study the question scientifically rather than metaphysically, he should have at it. More power to him if he can do something so apparently impossible. If our intrepid scientist could figure out how to do that, he'd have to BE God... <g>

That's the subject of "Metaphysics," which asks the question: "Is the universe real or not real?" "Is what we see all their is, or is there an unseen universe beyond it?" The task of a scientist is to deal with the seen world. I can't agree. The changes in life forms are part of the seen world. Our ability as intelligent beings to modify life forms is part of the seen world. Other changes in life forms in the past are part of the seen world. The mechanism by which those changes have come about is part of the seen world. ID doesn't ask whether the universe is real. It says, for example, that the human eye at one time didn't exist and now exists, in the same way as a Golden Delicious apple once didn't exist and now exists. The question how these things came into being, what mechanism was responsible for creating these changes, is very much a scientific inquiry.
