"The time has come that the American people know exactly what their Representatives are doing here in Washington. Are they feeding at the public trough, taking lobbyist-paid vacations, getting wined and dined by special interest groups? Or are they working hard to represent their constituents? The people, the American people, have a right to know."

-- Rep. Tom DeLay (R-TX), on the House floor, November 16, 1995.

Since when did conservatives morph into extra-Constitutional facists? You guys wonder why liberals call you facists? Well here's the proof. The President obviously acted beyond his Constitutionally granted powers and may have violated peoples rights of privacy and you support it anyway.

I know fighting terrorism is serious business, but we do not have to detroy our Constitutional form of government and way of life in the process of fighting it. If the President really requires those extrodinary powers he should petition Congress for them and let the the legislative and judical branches decide if he should have that power. He should not make up the law as he goes along like a dictator, that is called facism and is not living by the rule of law. It seems as if you and your ilk support a government run amok outside of Constitutional bounds and the rule of law.

Welcome to the Banana Republic of America, brought to you by Republicans. Look, 3,000 died on 9/11/01, a lot more have died of other causes since then. Why are we destroying our form of government over such a matter. We can fight terrorism and remain a country ruled by the rule of law.
