Progressive is not code for liberal. They are two different words with two different meanings. OTOH cowardly yellowbellied deserter and President Loser Dumbya Bush are exactly the same thing. OTOH rightwing chickenhawk thieves and Republicans are also exactly the same thing. You should go and have someone buy you a better dictionary for the Roman Pagan Christmas Holy Days. Republicans are stealing, yet again, from the hard working US Taxpayer in order to get government welfare for themselves: $8 BILLION worth of welfare for BigOil to do THEIR JOB of exploration and development. Special government protection against negligence and liability for welfare queen gun manufacturers and drug companies. Untold BILLIONS worth of welfare for Halliburton, Bechtel et al to NOT do anything but invoice the taxpayer anyway. Republicans love government welfare including the Alaskan bridge between a small town and an island with 50 people. Pure Republican welfare and government handouts. Republicans have increased the size and expense of government beyond all reason. Republicans are the Welfare Queens of this century. ============ You do not deserve this country. "progressive" is code for liberal. " Not for me. I consider it as an alternative for liberal. I consider myself in the mold of TR. I think guys like Rudy Giuliani and Ronald Reagan were progressive. Todays liberals are truly reactionaries yearning for the the good old days of the new deal. In NY Transit union thought it was 1060 and got a lesson. Conservatives suffer from an arrogance of power and have not come up with new ideas for some time now. Dems are lost in the past. Time for one party or the other to pick up the true progressive mantle without regard for ideology. mike@eclectic.com
