Sorry Tom: that is the quote off the transcript. Up until at least yesterday, the soundbite was on the White House website. That is what he said. No parsing, no cuts. If the President says: "Anytime you hear the government talking about wiretaps" I don't think it is out of context. This was not in answer to a question...he brought up the statement affirmatively. Now, I am certainly willing to agree he misspoke because he knew at that time that "anytime" wasn't true, but why can't you just agree he misspoke instead of falling back to your usual insults. Even George Bush now admits he makes mistakes. That is a step forward for anyone.
