But so far, I haven't read of any alternate theory to ID to explain how non-living things turned into living things. Have you? One theory is that life entered the Earth's environment via a meteorite.

1. It has already been ceded that the intervention of what you wish to call "God" is not an impossibility. It is simply outside the realm of scientidic inquiry. "God" may set the values of a small number of physical constants that cannot (at least currently) be derived from others and let 'er rip. Evolution is a theory which explains how some living things changed from their earlier forms to their later forms. However, there are gaps which are as yet unexplained. You're working over a period of at least 3 1/2 billion years of constant change and you're surprised to find prts of the record were destroyed. Huh? Evolution does NOT explain how non-living things became living things. We still don't have any accepted theory as to how that happened. The most absurd thing about that is that you'd make the statement. mala.bc.ca scienceweek.com Have you forgotten the theory of spontneous generaion of life was accepted in the Christian world as a matter of routine before evolutionary theory? How does that square with the pitbull defense put up against evolution now? Christians also accepted the existence of life after death- -something that has certainly never been demonstrated. Are you prepared to throw that out too? Again, you are trying to relabel an old, discreted theory and pass it off as new.
