Hi Sr K and Cosmo, First, I thank both of you for your comments and wish each of you happy holidays. Just so you know what VIP10113 means related to investment: VIP Very Ignorant Person 101 A beginner 13 Luck choosing stock Cosmo, We have a RSA “secureID” deployment with a user base of approximately 4000. A RSA key-fob used correctly offers a high degree of user authentication; however, the deficiency in the solution is as follows: 1) At any given time we have on average about 1.5 percent of the key-fob clock is out of sink with the server clock meaning 60 users cannot access the intranet. 2) The solution is only as the end-user meaning: The key-fob uses a pin number (a constant value) and a rolling variable (not constant) used to authenticate to the user to the authentication server. There are problems associated with this solution there are total out of the controller of the system administrator: a. The pin number is wrote on the back of the key-fob by the end-user hence rendering the complete solution into nothing more than smoke and mirrors. b. The internal clock in the key-fob will not stay in sink with the server clock meaning: helpdesk, helpdesk, helpdesk. This problem seems to be related to Murphy’s law because every time upper management is out of town on a business trip while in the conference room company X ready to delivery the big presentation the thing looses sink. 3) The cost associated with this solution that managers fail to identify. a. The per key-fob cost (estimated life 36 months) b. Authentication Server Hardware/Software c. Maintenance hardware/software (no maintenance contract will get NO HELP) d. Engineering support e. Helpdesk f. Encryption Appliance Hardware/Software g. Monitoring Scenario to track user activity h. And on and on……… Cosmo, I think I have made my point I am going to get off my soapbox, lol. Sr K, My posting was related to technology. The WAVX solution remedies many problems associated with computer and data security, which a not related to each other in any solution with the exception of WAVX. I do not know why WAVX has not posted a profit that is one reason I posted some comments on this website. Is not a “.com” company in my humble option. WAVX was in business when the Internet was in its infancy. They identify problems and provided solutions before those issues were know by many data experts. Again this is from an Engineer’s point of view, they are setting the standard for data exchange in the future either by insight or by blind luck. I can’t believe this company has stayed in business for over 10 years relying on blind luck, but again my alias is VIP10113. Later People, VIP10113
