"Freedom is not free."

A nearly meaningless platitude is all you've got to explain why we spend more than the entire rest of the world on the military? When was the last war we fought for freedom for US citizens? When was the last time the freedom of US citizens has been threatened? I was hoping for more than a silly, chimpish platitude from you, but I guess if that's all you've got...

How does fighting in Iraq preserve our freedom HERE exactly? It seems to be working the other way around..

Compared to most other countries, we are much less at risk, with Canada and Mexico as land neighbors and vast oceans seperating us from everyone else. We might be attacked, but it's VERY unlikely we'll be invaded. Why do you think we're so paranoid?
