My husband loves Japanese cuisine. I like it pretty well, but not as much as he does, although I am quite fond of miso soup. I like the more conventional sushi like yellow tail and toro but he's crazy about all of it, even sea urchins.

First time I ever ate sushi was at my dad's house. He used to deep sea fish a lot, and one time he was out fishing on the Gulf and a Japanese boat came up and wanted to buy some of what he had caught -- it must have been tuna. They gave him a lot of money, and then showed him how to eat it as sashimi, with wasabi.

Which reminds me -- now that it's cool again I need to order fresh wasabi from Oregon. I tried to order last year and they said the weather was too hot to ship. They ship it frozen.
