Rumsfeld has already noted that he wasn't for invading Iraq in the first place and he's been bored with the whole grind for awhile so pays it little attention.

Rumsfeld entire purpose is to 'transform the military' into a lean, mean fighting machine. The current fighting, however, is dull as it's pretty dang conventional, never ending and is always full of bad news.

On top of everything else, the entire Bushite strategy now rests on training Iraqi troops. The Bushites have already admitted that there is no way to win militarily against the insurgency. The Bushites have also admitted that we will leave and the insurgency will still be there.

Until very recently (and probably still today), training troops was considered a 'career-ender' for US troops so...who would bother?

How inane is that?

So if training the Iraqi troops still isn't that interesting or that motivating for the US and that is the entire strategy for the US....

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?
