Please don't suggest, even through Devil's Advocacy, that Magistral could even approach Red Lake. McEwen's presence will not magically change the geology of Magistral. With your line of reasoning, you're suggesting that McEwen could discover high grade gold at any mine suffering from high cost/low grade. As for USGL merger activity......I expect a lot of action by McEwen. Nevada Pacific, being on the Cortez Trend, is a very likely candidate. Minera Andes is, thus far, the only play outside the Cortez Trend to grab McEwen's offer of $$$. Regarding MAI, that private company owns 51%. But not 51% of MAI. Instead, they own 51% of that individual property scheduled for production in about 1 year from now. So they would be no impediment to McEwen merging (eventually) MAI into USGL. And MAI has multiple other enticing properties down in S. America. McEwen saw in MAI an undervalued company with good properties. We now know that McEwen will not limit himself to the Cortez Trend, though it will still be his focus. Look for 2006 to see multiple mergers of companies on the Cortez Trend into USGL. Those companies are currently being funded by McEwen (and there will possibly be more to come), not USGL. But in doing so, McEwen is gaining control, and will in the future push for their mergers into USGL. A recent meeting by USGL approved and increased their authorized number of shares to (if I remember correctly) 300 million shares. Current O.S. is somewhere around 30 million. McEwen is prepared, now, for numerous takeovers. And the recent great rise in share price will help him a great deal. Personally, I am not convinced that McEwen will turn USGL into one of the more profitable (as in actual earnings per share) gold companies in the sector, as that remains to be seen. However, I am not blind to the fact that his name and money carries a lot of weight. That and the Cortez Trend hot hype will propel the USGL share price over the next year or two. And I will be there to benefit from it. I will likely leave USGL when reality sets in. As for turning USGL into a royalty gold company.......well, that's getting a little ahead of ourselves. But I won't pretend to read McEwen's mind, maybe he will do just that.
