Gus > No, according to your own loathing of a vengeful turn of events....

I think you are being ridiculous. Of course, I get along with black people and as "humanely" as I get along with anyone else. As far my loathing of a vengeful turn of events is concerned, I don't even regard it as vengeful but as an attempt to legislate and then create outcomes, something which history has shown is impossible. I am also aware, and in fact I agree, that a more equitable distribution of wealth amongst the various population groups is essential for a harmonious interracial existence in the country. However, that is also possible only so far if the country is to continue to make progress economically.

There must come a time when each individual depends on his own efforts to make something of his life and not merely wait for alms or government hand-outs. Regrettably, most blacks do not have sufficient education to enable this to any extent and they will be compelled by circumstance to lead a life of poverty. For most of their lives, therefore, they will be dependent on the state and on charity. Meanwhile, other "well-connected" ones have found themselves cushy jobs, also at the tax-payers' expense, and are busy enriching themselves without making any contribution to the society. Thus, even before we get around to services like education, health care, social services, pensions and law enforcement, SA has enormous expenses just being "humane". These have to be borne by each and every taxpayer -- including me.
