I don't think Russia, China nor India would appreciate it. Russia feels threatened already and obviously China does as well. In my opinion, Iran doesn’t represent a threat to the U.S. but feels they need a nuclear capability to defend themselves. However, if attacked, I believe that Iran would become significantly more aggressive and could become much more of a threat than they presently represent. I would worry a heck of a lot more about potential Iranians terrorists than Arabs. The level of technical sophistication in Iran is eons beyond the abilities of Arab states. Though it might be too late by now, the U.S. needs to again discover that diplomacy is a much more fruitful way to succeed and prosper. In order to do that, it needs to redevelop lost trust in the world though that at present this is an incredibly difficult challenge. Should it stick to force, it will cause a complete reorientation of most of the rest of the world towards China and Russia as strange as that may appear. Even in many parts of Europe, China today is viewed more favorably than the U.S., something completely unimaginable only a few years ago. U.S. cultural exports (movies, music) are suffering. Cultural exports and the resulting identification with U.S. values were a major part of preserving the image of a benevolent empire. I am, however, not very optimistic as this administration has shown no diplomacy skills whatsoever. It is pretty clear that its power base doesn't understand the ROW nor even wants to. The administration therefore tries to achieve its goals through coercion and force and that can only result in increased resistance and in many instances in outright hostility. I am not sure where it will lead to in the short run, however, I am certain that over the long haul the end of the U.S. empire is in sight. This might not be such a good thing but given the actions of the last few years, I simply don't see another outcome.
