Yep. Russia wants to keep Ukraine out of NATO and the EU... (& to increase the chances for the political candidate they favor in the East....) Re: "Kiev has retaliated by threatening to increase tariffs for gas transit to western Europe and raise the rent paid by the Russian navy to keep its Black Sea fleet in the Ukrainian port of Sevastopol." Good to see that Ukraine has some economic weapons to employ as well.... (Now we can see one of the reasons Russia is building the gas pipeline under the Baltic direct to Germany....)
