I think you'd have to approach a billion dollars for an estate to have the effect you anticipate.

No, that is only a very obvious and dramatic example.

Million dollar estates are sufficient to swamp merit, on the average, compared to those with no estate at all. I think that amount is near the edge of a tipping point.
