It is a fact that origins are still a complete scientific mystery.

Perhaps it is a belief that nothing is known about origins. It is as if you are saying that astronomy is completely unknown because we aren't sure what takes place within the event horizon of a black hole. Yes, there is more to learn, but that's a long way from a complete mystery.
