Which basically means the war is unpopular. That a lot of people think it was a bad idea. If that is the criteria then you are not supporting the absolute standard that a war can not be a good idea if 30k people are killed, but rather that an unpopular war is automaticlly a net bad if at least 30k people are killed. I don't think I agree but at least I have a better understanding of your criteria.


That's part of it but my criteria goes beyond that premise. I oppose the war in Iraq because it's an unnecessary war. Saddam did not pose a threat to the safety of the US. We are not fighting in Iraq to protect the US. IMO that's the only reason a country should go to war. That is why this war is in such great dispute as was Vietnam.
