M, That's what Christianity was about, more than who got the biggest Xmas tree and the latest Sony Playstation. That's how it was made palatable to heathens :o) Just like Carnival in Brazil and Mardi Gras festivities... The gifts, the tree, the parties... It's the part that everyone can relate to... As to the true meaning... I suspect we'll never know... once the Romans got a hold of it and it got politicized... it became like anything else we humans politicize for power and gain... you need to look deeply for the good parts and wonder what the original patent holder really had in mind :o) Maybe something totally different ...
