It has nothing to do with percentages or dollar amounts. So we aren't spending to high of a percentage or even too many dollars but we are spending way too much??? We are spending too much. I don't need a percentage or a dollar amount to know that. Its has to do with this country's obsession with weaponry and with military aggression. Obsession with military agression?? I don't think that statement accurately reflects reality. Really? When was the last time we've been invaded? How many times since WW II have we invaded another country? That's because you have a militant's mindset If we cut out military budget by a third it wouldn't greatly increase the % of our national income spent on social programs. Why not? We are the most militaristic nation on the planet Nonsense. We have a larger military budget than the combined budgets of the three countries on the list just below us. What would you call that? Peace loving? And please don't tell me that the other three countries have lower labor costs.
