Ahh! I remember reading of bottles costing so much more being consumed at a Qcom investor's dinner! Those were the days!

C2, there are lots of good wines now, with a lack of acetic acid flavour. I don't know Monkey Bay, but Kim Crawford is doing an excellent branding job.

Buys grapes grown by contractors and produces to his specifications. The old idea of being a fully-integrated grower to retailer is hard work and expensive.

Volumes are huge now and price/quality balance is crucial.

Marlborough is indeed an excellent area for growing grapes for wine. I don't know about other than sauvignon blanc.

I'm at most a casual drinker.
