If he meant per capita income, he may be right for at least next 100 years. If he meant the total GDP, he might be wrong by a long shot<g>.

In terms of the night lights/Neons of cities, China may already have more cities brighter than that in the US. But personally, I think it is such a waste, especially when plenty of manufactures have to stop some shifts because there is no enough power. Do you know that in ShangHai BuDong - Lu Jia Zui, the high rise buildings have turn their lights on by 11pm or something like that. Otherwise, the city gov. would impose fine<g>
