The huge debt buildup indeed makes a major economic and financial crisis much more likely. But until the fat lady sings people continue to be enthralled by the inflation of home values and stock portfolios.

A bear market in stocks and real estate will do more to destroy Bush and his minions than all that has happened in Iraq. Wish it were not so, but that is the way I see it.
