I sent MICA an inquiry before regarding the cure rate, questioning them on how the cure rate could be over a 100% back in the early 1990s when the market was so bad. They responded by saying that they only report the numbers and do not digest them.

Cure rate of 80-85% is good, very good. Cure rate should be closer to zero when times are bad. That is what I suspect why the cure rate was so high back in the early 1990s when they call it a "cure" because the claim was paid in full.
