Regarding alcohol....I think we should be giving more than lip service to our current laws, and jail people who disregard them. If someone commits murder while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, they should have to pay the legal penalty for that murder. We do not pay enough attention to our current laws, and let people out of jail/prison before they have paid their penalty. And yes, I think people who cause others harm because of their drinking, should be forced to pay for the costs inflicted on society.
