It will be interesting to see how uBid is valued. The acquisition of uBid by CMGI was announced on February 9, 2000. On that date, CMGI closed at $120.50. Each of the uBid shares was to be exchanged for .2628 CMGI shares. There were 11,628,036 uBid shares outstanding, which gave the deal a $368.1 million valuation on the date that it was announced. The deal did not close until May 1, by which time the shares of CMGI had declined to $69.50, giving the deal a valuation of $212.3 million.
