Well, I was mistaken as to who built the Dome of the Rock, but I was correct in that Herod did build a very large temple on that spot, I had forgotten it was destroyed later. But, the point of the matter is that each religion claims that Rock as THEIR Holy Place. Now, either they all have the same God, but HUMANS have chosen to reinterpret the God to THEIR liking and caused much suffering at that Rock in the name of THEIR God or the whole thing is a Hoax. Does anyone actually think THE GOD would be happy about that? Seems to me Herod, a PAGAN, had more respect for the TRUE meaning of that rock then any of the PIOUS ONES. The people that commit atrocities in the name of THEIR God and refer to that rock as THEIR rock ought to be ashamed of themselves and ultimately will answer to THE GOD. jdn
