<The comments from other retired military at the site about his books indicates he was "right on."> No argument on that part. I was referring to the degree he portrays how people in power put career ahead of duty. I just skimmed his reader comments page and this is the only one I found that supports it. "Capt Deutermann, I've certainly enjoyed your books. Unfortunately, the inter- and intra-organizational machinations are all too real. Speaking as a 35 yr, Navy R&D civil serpent.
