Here are my 2006 Biotech Charity Picks:
ARQL: 10%: 1,633.99 shares
AVNA: 10%: 4,830.92 shares
AXYX: 10%: 12,048.19 shares
CRIS: 15%: 4,213.48 shares
DVAX: 15%: 3,562.95 shares
GNTA: 10%: 6,849.32 shares
RNAI: 10%: 3,300.33 shares
TELK: 10%: 588.58 shares
VIAC: 10%: 1,779.36 shares

AVNA (essentially a nanotechnology closed-end fund) is a bit of a stretch, as not all of its investments are biotech-related. But since John McCarthy picked the somewhat comparable ARWR, I'm hoping AVNA will pass muster. If any one objects, please let me know and I'll take it out.
I pledge $250 this year (may raise the amount, depending on how my real-life portfolio does in 2006). I'll wait to pick my charity in the very unlikely event I come in first.
My 2005 picks were up 11.5%, which surprised me as I didn't think I could pick a biotech portfolio and hold it without trading for an entire year and come out ahead. In real life, by actively and often idiotically trading, I luckily managed to beat my charity portfolio by quite a bit. But I was still outclassed by Rick's stunning 65.8% charity contest performance.
My best wishes to all the SI Biofreaks for a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!
